A new look introduced across the whole of BBC News television output in 10 May 1999 meant that, for the first time, all the main bulletins on BBC One had the same look – the only variation being the title of the programme. A new desk and updated graphics were introduced in January 2002, and completely new studio and graphics rolled out across BBC News on 20 January 2003.
Huw Edwards and Fiona Bruce were the main presenters of the Six O’Clock News – until the January 2003 relaunch meant George Alagiah and Sophie Raworth became joint presenters.
