ITV News Meridian is the regional news programme for the ITV Meridian region and part of the ITV Central region, serving South East England.
Meridian News South served eastern Dorset, the Isle of Wight, southern Hampshire and West Sussex), and was based in Southampton before moving to Whiteley in 2004.
Meridian News East served East Sussex, Kent and southern Essex), and was based in Maidstone before moving to an industrial estate near New Hythe in 1994.
Meridian News West served Berkshire, northern Hampshire, Wiltshire and parts of Surrey), and was based in Newbury. Studio production moved to Southampton in 2001.
At the end of 2008, in light of a restructuring through the ITV regional news network, around 100 staff across the Meridian & Thames Valley areas were made redundant and all sub-regional services in the Thames Valley were axed.
Meridian News updated its set on 15 December 2009. The new look realigned the regional programme with the national bulletins, with the on screen graphics taking many styling cues from the national programme.
All ITV regional news programmes in England and Wales adopted the new ITV corporate branding on Monday 14 January 2013 - Meridian Tonight was renamed 'ITV News Meridian'.
A new studio for ITV News Meridian was launched on Monday 3rd August 2015.
