Coverage of LWT presentation between 1986 and 1992.
Despite its continuing popularity, the popular river ident was beginning to show its age and on 29th August 1986 it was consigned to the history books, along with the two electronically generated idents. In their place was a new ident package with two versions: Genesis and Solari. The ident was created by “The Computer Film Company” with Rod Argent and Peter van Hooke created the new piece of music.

New Season Autumn 1987
LWT, along with most other ITV regions, decided to play ball and duly adopted the ITV ’89 generic look on 1st September 1989. But it distinctly lacked the ‘weekend’s here’ feeling which past LWT idents had in abundance. To help solve this problem the 1986 Solaris ident was brought back into use during 1991 and 1992 to link into regional programmes.
Break Bumper: 1989-1996
