UTV is the ITV franchise for Northern Ireland.
Ulster Television was rebranded as UTV on 4th June 1993.
Presentation was updated on UTV on 6th January 2001.
UTV adopted the same 'Celebrity' idents as network ITV1, on 28 October 2002. However these were gradually replaced with local versions featuring notable personalities and broadcasters from Northern Ireland.
After only a year, UTV replaced its localised versions of the ITV1 celebrities with landscape and scenery idents, deimageting a variety of areas (usually rural) around Northern Ireland.
UTV updated its scenery idents and presentation on 16 January 2006.
On 3 July 2007, UTV officially launched their summer schedule with a feast of local programming for viewers to enjoy.
UTV unveiled new modified idents on 6 April 2009. The old black background used on the idents was replaced by a much warmer blue feel. This modification was to coincide with the major relaunch of UTV Live, which happened on the same day.
UTV relaunched its presentation on 2 January 2011 - introducing a new set of scenery idents, as well as updating promotional presentation, which now features a 3D version of the station logo.
UTV updated its idents on 12 October 2012, returning to rural scenes from across the province and featuring a new jingle.
UTV will be rebranded on Monday 17 October 2016, to become more consistent with its parent broadcaster ITV.
