Sky Movies is the collective name for the premium subscription television movie channels operated by Sky Television, and later British Sky Broadcasting. It has around 5 million subscribers, via satellite, cable and IPTV in the UK and Ireland.
The Sky Movies service is to be rebranded as Sky Cinema on July 8th 2016.
On 15 June 2016, Sky announced that Sky Movies would be rebranded as Sky Cinema from 8 July. They also announced that the number of premieres would increase to one each day, and that a 4K service would be launched later in 2016.

A new corporate look for Sky Movies was launched in 1995. The look was refreshed in 1996.
On the 1st November 1997, Sky Movies channels were rebranded. Sky Movies became "Sky Movies Screen 1" and The Movie Channel became "Sky Movies Screen 2"

From 4 April 2007, Sky Movies channels were revamped with each channel covering a different genre.
Presentation on Sky's family of Movie Channels was relaunched on 4 April 2007, and updated again slightly in January 2010.
