BBC Breakfast: 2012-

In July 2010 the BBC announced that Breakfast was moving to their new studios in Salford Quays. The decision has proved unpopular with some of the presenters and staff on the programme as this will require them to relocate. In March 2011, the BBC announced co-presenter Sian Williams and sports presenter Chris Hollins would not be moving to Salford with Breakfast in April 2012.

On 12 December 2011 the press announced that Louise Minchin would become a main presenter of BBC Breakfast when the programme moves to Salford, along with current main presenters Bill Turnbull, Carol Kirkwood, Susanna Reid and Charlie Stayt.

Susanna Reid left BBC Breakfast in March 2014, to become a presenter on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Bill Turnbull left on 26 February 2016.

The first Breakfast to come from Salford was broadcast on Tuesday, 10 April 2012.
